Studies show that after losing a job or having difficulties at work, people may experience several different emotions that disrupt their natural tendencies to behave. For example, ANGER is a feeling of workplace betrayal without support or care. GRIEF is a feeling of sadness or despair due to loss of income or the support of coworkers. FEAR is a feeling of being unemployable because they lack the skills or connections to get that next job. SHOCK is a feeling of disbelief without condoning morally wrong behavior. These emotional feelings just don't go away. They merely go underground, until a person is able to manage their emotions or get help to recompose their thoughts and prevail above the challenges associated with their dilemmas and seeking employment elsewhere.
This online forum seeks to promote perspectives in perseverance combining the Science of Scripture with the Art of Emotional Intelligence.
The Science of Scripture is based upon the beliefs that the bible is a reliable collection of historical documents written by eyewitnesses during the lifetime of other eyewitnesses. They report supernatural events that took place in fulfillment of specific prophecy and claim that their writings are Divine rather than of human in origin. Therefore, they are not myths, fairytales, legends, but rather events that actually transpired. As a result, being JESUS-Led is behaving with peace, kindness and self-control (Galatians 5:18 & 22).
Emotional Intelligence (EI/EQ) is the ability to be self-aware, self-managed, socially skilled in empathy and expert in relationship management. As a result, being better is improving the way we think, feel and therefore act.
What are you FACING?
There is a signature song written by artist Larry Marcus, entitled, "Written all over your Face (Rude Boys, 1991). Lyrics suggest that a person doesn't have to say a word when their thoughts are written all over their face. The album cover was Rude Awakening, a double entendre (a humorous phrase with two interpretations; Rude (offensively impolite) and Awakening (a harsh reality). Coaching helps us to navigate for better outcomes.
What's required of us? The LORD (Jesus Christ/JC) recommends that we do what is good, that is, to act justly, to love mercy [diligently practice] kindness [compassion], And to walk humbly with your GOD [setting aside any overblown sense of importance or self-righteousness] (Micah 6:8 - Amplified Bible).
